Hey — quick honest note about the photos on this site.

A handful of cap pages here include photos of Elastic teammates wearing the cap I made for them. These were shared with me informally (Slack DMs, mostly), and I’m sure nobody minds — but “sure” isn’t the same as “asked,” so here’s the deal in writing.

What I’m asking for

Permission to show your photo on this tiny non-commercial hobby site — the one you’re reading right now. That’s it. No resale, no advertising, no licensing to third parties, no merch-shop pivot, no AI training dataset. If that ever changes, I’d ask again first.

Who actually sees these photos

By default, teammate photos and names are hidden behind a Google Sign-In gate — only verified @elastic.co Workspace accounts can see them. The verification happens server-side (the photo bytes literally aren’t sent to anyone who hasn’t signed in), so a random internet stranger sees a silhouette, not your face.

How to opt out

Email yakiryous@gmail.com or DM @kiryous on Slack and your photo is gone within 24 hours. No questions asked, no hard feelings, no explanation needed.

If you’d rather your photo also disappear from the gated Elastic-only view — same deal, same email, same DM. Just say the word.

This is a gift project, not a contract. If anything here ever feels off, tell me and I’ll fix it faster than you can finish the sentence.
